I have chartered boats up and down both West and East coasts, this outfit is one of the best I’ve been on in years! The crew is Kick-Ass they were unbelievably helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we all had a great trip. I was diving a new rebreather and they where very accommodating to me. The crew didn’t give me dive weights when I was told they were going to. Then they told me to jump in the water for my first dive, but I couldn’t dive down because I was floating.
So captain Ryan picks me up and refuses to let me back in the water for my dive saying “it’s too dangerous because the current is too strong.” Well I was fine with that for safety purposes, but then he refused to give me a half/partial refund for missing an entire dive when it was HIS decision to not let me back in the water to complete the dive. When I asked him for a partial refund at the end of the trip, he said, “No, and get off my dock.”
Take your money elsewhere. Narcosis dive company has much more and better reviews. – via

Had two fantastic dives today! Captain Zach did a great job of putting us right on top of the reef. Our divemasters, Donna and Cameron, were on top of it, super friendly, helpful, and didn’t make anyone feel rushed! My fiance has back issues and they helped her moved about the boat and get in and out of the water without putting a strain on her back, which was really great! Overall they were super professional and Donna was an amazing guide on the bottom! Thanks for a great outing! – via

Deep Obsession is a great boat, staffed with reliable, knowledgeable & friendly crew. They know all the great dive spots, and make all divers feel comfortable.
Parking is close, and loading/unloading gear is not an issue. The crew is super friendly and will help you carry your gear to & from the boat.
I am an active scuba Instructor, and would recommend this boat for both fun & training dives. All the crew on board went above and beyond to make sure everyone on the boat had a great time – via

I have been a certified PADI diver since 1985 and Dive Master since 1999. My dive buddy and I have dove on previous trips to Florida with Ryan on Deep Obsession and had good experiences. I spoke to Ryan after Irma and booked three days of Goliath Grouper/Shark dives between 9/17-9/21 after confirming that they were good to go barring bad weather.
Each day we received a confirming e-mail that were going and confirmed. A few hours later, we received a cancellation e-mail due to “not enough divers” and that their cancellation policy “is stated in every confirmation”. I read the fine print and yes this is Ryan and Amber’s terms and conditions. “All charters require a minimum of 6 guests to guarantee the charter will go.”
I have dove practically everywhere in the world, but never experienced cancellations due to not enough divers. We flew down from NY and PA to only dive with Deep Obsessions, paid for two air fares, a condo rental, rental car, meals, etc. We lost over $1800.00.
To me, as a retired Hotelier, this fine print disclaimer is poor business policy at best. We never heard from Ryan about our loss and Amber offered a discount on future dives. My advice to Ryan, Amber, and Deep Obsessions is to highlight/bold or verbalize their policy of “not enough divers cancellation policy”. In our case, a verbal BTW we may not go on the 3 booked days would have given us the opportunity to not dive with them, avoid the time and expense of our travel, or delay the trip until normal conditions existed. – via

We had a great time with this dive shop. To amazing dives, the crew was awesome, the shop was helpful. We even got some wet suits and lobster gloves and a great deal. We will definitely be back to do a shark dive. I highly recommend going on some dives with this shop. – via

Amazing diving experience, this was hands down one of the best dives I’ve ever been on, we saw some huge turtles a shark and a large variety of other fish, they were very helpful very fun crew, very smart with LOTS of cool information to share along the way, they made our trip amazing. We will DEFINATELY dive here every time we visit. Great experience! – via
