My wife, two daughters 16, and 19, one of their friends and I had an absolutely fantastic experience with SunBuggy in Pismo Beach! From start to finish, their team went above and beyond to ensure our adventure was unforgettable.

Despite a slight hiccup at the beginning due to a car stuck in the river, Alejandro kept us informed and reassured us throughout the process, making sure we were well-prepared for our day of fun. The paperwork and safety video were handled smoothly, thanks to his guidance.

Once we were ready to hit the dunes, Alex was our hero! Patient and thorough, he made sure everyone in our group felt comfortable operating the vehicles safely. Even when we encountered a minor issue with a quad’s battery, the team quickly provided a solution, ensuring our adventure wasn’t delayed.

Speaking of the adventure itself, it was absolutely epic! With almost nobody else on the dunes, we had the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy the thrill of riding.

I can’t thank the SunBuggy team enough for their outstanding service, both on the front lines and behind the scenes. Meeting the owner, Randy, was a delight, and it’s clear that his leadership reflects in the exceptional service provided by his staff.

If you’re looking for an adventure in Pismo Beach, look no further than SunBuggy. Their dedication to customer satisfaction and safety truly sets them apart. Thanks again for an incredible experience!

Max was super friendly, knowledgeable, and nice. He answered all of our questions so we signed up to do a one hour ATV ride. When we got down to the beach, Brad was very informative and helpful on how to control and run the ATV and how to navigate the different types of sand dunes that we would encounter. My family and I had a wonderful experience with Sun Buggie! Brad was very friendly and patient with us as we learned how to ride the ATV’s and UTV’s. They have a very large variety of different vehicles and are all very good quality. Sonia, the shuttle bus driver was incredibly polite and sweet; the music she plays on the rides are upbeat and put my in a great mood before I rode on the dunes (she 100% deserves a tip!). – via

My fiancé and I booked a ride on the weekend to Pismo’s location. We had to reschedule a couple of times since it was raining. On our last day at Pismo, we were on time for our reservation, but the employee said the creek was closed so we could not ride at all. Here is the first annoying part–the creek has been closed for the whole weekend, and they did NOT send any email about it until we arrived in person. Not even when we made a call to reschedule.

The guy handed us a phone number to call customer service for a refund. WE SPENT WEEKS TO REACH TO THEM! Every time we called them, they said “The manager is not in the place.”
I emailed them AGAIN and they said I can only reschedule or get ONLY a 70% refund. I did not even ride the ATV at all!!! I did not even see them!! It is not our fault that the creek is closed. Now I just wasted $100 for nothing.

The most frustrating part is they did not even take any actions– either reschedule or refund when it has been weeks already this happened.
I am planning to make a small claim if they do not respond to me back within a week. – via

I would avoid this company for future booking and highly recommend same to all my friends in bay area. On 12/28/2023, we booked for ATV ride around 11am for 1pm-3pm slot. Called them after booking and they verified confirmation and asked us to bring ID. Within 10 mins we got a call saying city has cancelled all beach activities including ATV. I respect that, however i figured out that such warning was issued since morning and all other ATV companies stop taking booking from 28th morning to 30th morning. I asked for refund and they said we don’t have refund policy but we can issue voucher for future use. I requested them that we came 200 miles one way for this activity, and we can’t just go back and come back, they flat out said sorry we can’t issue refund. I told them it’s fraud to collect money when you are asked by City not to operate, they just hung up the phone on me. I checked their website on 29th and 30th when ATV was not permitted in Pismo beach, this was the only company still taking reservation. All other companies including Steve’s ATV Rentals and BJ’s ATV rental were not accepting reservations. Please avoid Sun Buggie Fun ATV Rentals. I will put same experience on facebook so others don’t have to go through this experience. We were 3 families and all had to go through same experience.
Add-on: Response from owner is completely lie. Those 3 days all other companies stop taking reservations except Sun Buggie was taking reservations for all 3 days while ATV was not permitted. They were issuing voucher instead of refund to basically take your money. I strongly recommend to book other companies to secure your money. – via

Unexpected experience. At first I didn’t want tell it out. My wife encouraged me to do it. First, no refund of price difference for wrongly chosen model for my son due to age limitations. There is no clear wording on the web page unless the user click the small icon to see the age limitations for each ATV model. Secondly, the lady at the window questioned us watching safety videos in speedy mode. I believe nobody wants to be treated in this way. I just curious if the employees there are treated like this at other store in the future, how do they feel? – via

Given we visited in off season, there was n’t any rush. The Check-in was smooth. It was my daughter’s first ATV ride so she definitely enjoyed driving. I would suggest Sun Buggie to improve their response time for ‘Recovery’ calls. It took a whole lot of 25 mins for someone to come and recover her ATV once it got stuck in sand. In fact a fellow driver helped us before someone arrived from Sun Buggie. – via
